january 18, 2009: stephanie & rich

Ooh, I love Portland!!!

Today I had a session with Stephanie and Rich at Division Street, and it was so fantastic and fun. I was excited right away when they got out of their car, because Stephanie has an awesome-colored scarf, and Rich has an awesome-colored beard, and the two elements combined had me pumped. This was also my first "real" session in Portland, so I was really into getting back in the photographer game.

There are more photos at my flickr, and later, at the website.

I'm going to get back to editing, but I couldn't resist posting a few of these. Thanks to Stephanie and Rich for the great session!

JANUARY 2009-MARCH 2009 WEDDING SPECIALS:Book ANY wedding between January and March 2009 for:$50 off Wedding Package A; $100 off Wedding Package B; $150 off Wedding Package C; $300 off Wedding Package D(Wedding can take place anytime before or after March 2009, but must be booked by the end of March)

JANUARY 2009-MARCH 2009 MATERNITY SPECIALS:Book MONTHLY maternity sessions between January and March 2009 and receive $100 off the entire package(Maternity sessions must begin by July 2009)

In addition, there are some new changes at the website! A new splash page, an additional blog, a new header, AND I've discovered how to add music! So I put Debussy's "Clair de lune", which I first heard in Seven Years in Tibet. This was kind of a struggle for me, but I think that that piece is so classic, so it won out. I very nearly put a .mid file of "Going to California" (by Led Zeppelin), but the quality wasn't the best. I'm also on the hunt for "City of Blinding Lights" (instrumental), so if anyone finds it, please let me know!

I'm launching quite a few advertising campaigns this week, so hopefully they'll stir some things up! I'm very dedicated to Blissed Out right now, much more than I will admit I have been in the past. I'm gearing up to make a few equipment investments, and hopefully all of this will work out.

I guess we'll see!

january 2, 2009: headshots for Juliet

Juliet emailed me a few days ago and asked if I could take a few quick headshots for her. I was very happy to do so, and Juliet became my first Portland-based session, even if it lasted about fifteen minutes and took place right outside my apartment building!

Here are a few of the before & after shots. I apologize for the small size, but I wanted them to line up next to one another.

I have a portrait session lined up on soon (assuming the weather cooperates), so Sunday and Monday I plan to scout the perfect locations. Portland is full of so many interesting places. I think I'll get my husband to model for me for the day. :)

Until next time,

Stephanie

december 9, 2008: whitney & robert

Just a short update--Whitney called and asked if I could take a few photos of her and Robert before we leave for Portland, and I was happy to oblige. It was great to get out of the house, which is full of boxes and things to be packed. AND now I have plenty of photos to edit upon arrival. :)

november 22, 2008: Michelle & Gabriel

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting Michelle and Gabriel, who are one of the funniest, best-matched couples I have encountered! I am absolutely in love with them. They have a really easy, natural chemistry, and are very open to talking about all kinds of things, including Gabe's very interesting wedding plans. :)

november 16, 2008: Dominique

Just a few peeks at Dominique's portrait session from last Saturday. I'm really excited about these photos--I know I say that a lot, but each time I review the photos for editing after a session, I get excited about them! The sessions always look different, which brings a lot of variety to the overall feel of Blissed Out Photography--something I'm always striving for!

That's it for now--I have a paper to write about Seurat, of all people. Ah! I can't wait to graduate.

Also: hello to anyone from Portland that has dropped by! I've been doing my best to promote Blissed Out before we get there, so hopefully it's working a little. :)

Stephanie

PS-Dominique's session was my last "official" Huntsville-based Blissed Out session, but I do have a few more for friends that I'm going to hopefully be tackling before we jet out of the city. I just wanted to let anyone stopping by know, because the blog will continue to be updated between now and the middle of December.

november 15, 2008: Kourtney

Last Saturday I one of the most entertaining sessions with Kourtney. I always love portraiture sessions because you never know what type of personality the person you're going to be shooting will have, and I love finding out! Kourtney was fantastic, she was open and definitely excited about the shoot--so much so that she drove from Tennessee!

We visited a couple of nearby places that I haven't visited before, which was awesome as well!

Thanks, Kourtney, for the laughter-filled session! I had so much fun.
